WordPress has recently become a bloggers best friend. It's so easy to install, set up, and manage, that you would almost be crazy not to have your blog be powered by WordPress. There are thousands and thousands of themes and plugins available, making it even easier for your blog to stand out amongst the crowd.
Most people blog about something that they love, or something that means a lot to them, but did you know that you can sell your established or new blog for big profits? A simple Google search will lead to several free websites to accomplish this. Next, find out if your blog's overall theme could be profitable. This can be done easily also by a Google search, as well researching a few of the websites that allow you to post your blog for sale. Some of these sites are Sitepoint, Digital Point Forums, and eBay.
Once you get this information together, you have to figure out how many visitors are coming to your site. You should be able to get with your web host for this information, or if you are web hosting-savvy, then look in your CPANEL area for traffic stats and information. You will also need to take some screen shots of your traffic for potential buyers, as well as screen shots of any revenue you may have earned by hosting this blog.
At this point, you should have:
- Found out your blog's Page Rank and Alexa Rank
- Determined your blog's overall profitability
- Gathered traffic and web stats
- Taken screen shots of traffic and revenue (if any)
With this information together, you are almost ready to sell your blog. There are a few more important things that you must do before you can sell your blog. First, you have to backup the blog's SQL database, as well as the blog's folders and files. You can also accomplish this also through your CPANEL area, or by getting with your web host. Next, copy these backups to your computer's desktop, and place everything in a folder with your screen shots, traffic stats, etc.
