There are three types of Bosch freezer available at the moment: the chest freezer, the under counter freezer and the upright models. The under counter and upright versions are available as free-standing and built in models, but the chest freezer is available as a free standing model only.
The Bosch freezers are available in the Logixx, Exxcel and Classixx styles. The Logixx is the highest specification of the three and the Classixx has the most basic, but still practical specification, which leaves the Exxcel selection in the middle of the range in terms of specification, features and style. All three styles- the Classixx, Exxcel and Logixx models except the 55cm wide Classixx fridge freezers have silver natural elements within the lining of the fridge. This gives lifetime protection against bacteria, micro organism and algae growth, so that it can provide the safest possible storage.
The under- counter freestanding Logixx freezer is 60cm wide and has a net capacity of 100 litres. It has an energy efficiency rating of A, and has zero CFC emissions, which both lead to an environmentally friendly appliance and this particular appliance has an average energy consumption of around 208kWh per year.
The Exxcel freestanding under- counter model is smaller at 55cm wide and has a net capacity of 86 litres. This appliance is also rated A for energy efficiency, has zero CFCs and has an average energy consumption of 204 kWh per year.
The Classixx range is the most basic of the three and offers a practical good value option. This model is smaller still at 50cm wide, but is still energy efficient as it too carries a rating of A.
There is only one under- counter built in Bosch freezer available at the moment. This particular model has four- star freezer storage and allows food to be stored for longer at -18C. It has a net capacity of 100 litres and uses on average 212 kWh per year.
The upright free standing Bosch freezers are also available in the Logixx, Exxcel and Classixx ranges. The Logixx upright freezer has the best energy efficiency rating possible, which is A+ and is energy efficiency recommended. This model also has frost free technology, which stops ice from forming on the inside of the freezer and on the food, meaning that the freezer does not need to be defrosted as often.
The Exxcel model is very similar in terms of features and energy efficiency and the Classixx model is again the most basic as it does not come with the frost free technology. The upright freezers are larger that the under- counter freezers so their capacities are more, but they are designed more for kitchens that have a bit more space to spare.
There are two upright Bosch's in the built- in selection. They are both 87cm high and have an energy efficiency rating of A, so not quite as good as the Logixx and Exxcel freestanding freezers, but will still save energy and money.
The Chest freezer is only available in the Classixx range and is rated A+ for energy efficiency. It includes frost free technology and has a net capacity of a massive 365 litres- that is one litre for every day of the year!
