Tactical Entry Teams sometimes use chemical agents in order to make entry into a structure for the purpose of subduing an assailant or to gain a strategic advantage of a situation. An example of this would be a hostage situation requiring SWAT or perhaps an out of control crowd turned Riot. It is important for the team that they don't become casualties of their own devices. This is when a NIOSH approved Gas Mask becomes critical to safe entry and exit of the hazardous environment. Protective equipment bearing the NIOSH seal of approval have met a set of safety standards required for approval.

The Survivair Opti-fit Mask has been designed for the rigors of riot control situations and provides respiratory protection against several non-lethal chemical agents including CS Gas (Tear Gas), CN Gas (Mace), and OC (Pepper Spray). In addition to the non-lethal agents mentioned, the Tactical version of the Gas Mask provides protection against nuclear, biological, and chemical agents. The Survivair system has been tested against various chemical warfare agents including GB (Sarin) and HD, commonly known as Mustard Gas, the results proved the respirator is effective for use in defense against chemical warfare weapons.

Equally as important for responders using gas masks is the functionality of the gear. The Survivair uses its Opti-fit technology to ensure the responder has a leak free and comfortable fit. Tactical teams are often required to engage in fast moving CQB (Close Quarters Battle) engaging several assailants, field of vision is maintained providing an unobstructed view in situations where vision is essential.

The teams that respond to and protect the citizens of the US and abroad must take precautions to protect themselves. Tactical gear and accessories are designed to provide protection in situations when normal duty gear won't cut it.

For entry teams and riot control the Opti-fit Tactical Gas Mask should be an integral part of your protective gear.
