Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II Lens for EOS Digital SLR Rebel XT, XTI, 20D & 30D Digital Cameras

Canon's redesigned compact EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II autofocus zoom lens (approximately a 28-90mm lens in 35mm format) is smaller and lighter than conventional lenses because of the shorter back focus distance. By reducing the distance from the rear of the lens to the imaging sensor and reducing the size of the image circle to accommodate the camera's imaging sensor size, the lens produces high image quality with superb resolution at all focal lengths. By optimizing the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II lens coatings, Canon's engineers have effectively minimized the chance of flare and ghosting which are more prone to occur with digital cameras than with film cameras. The coatings reduce reflections off the rear of the lens to deliver crisp, undistorted digital images.By optimizing the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II lens coatings, Canon's engineers have effectively minimized the chance of flare and ghosting which are more prone to occur with digital cameras than with film cameras. It still includes ALL original accessories (the Canon full Warranty Card, Instruction Manuals and Lens Caps). This lens is all BRAND NEW and has NEVER been used.
Customer Review: Get the new, improved version.
The newer Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens is the latest version of this kit lens, and is a vast optical improvement over this lens. The build quality of the new version is also a little better than this old lens. The new version is now the standard kit lens included with the EOS XSi camera. Best of all, the new one sells for much less than 200 dollars, so I wonder why they still try to sell this piece of junk for such a high price? It doesn't even have IS (image stabilization). There must be people gullible enough to pay good money for below par products, when better can be found for less; if they would just take a few minutes to do a bit of research before purchasing. I have found several photo review sites that give good reviews to the new lens, but this old version is pretty much trashed in the reviews. The old lenses will have II in the name, but not IS; the new lenses will have IS in the name, but not II.
Customer Review: Lens Review
What can I say. The lens is in good shape and it works... What I expected.

It's amazing how the integration of technology and remarkable engineering could lead to the development of feature-filled scuba gear - particularly diving masks. Nowadays, we find many of these remarkable items line up the shelves of scuba equipment specialty stores that it's rather easy to get confused with all the functionalities and features that go into the manufacture of diving masks.

While scuba divers prefer the wear of top of the line masks, it would be unwise to pay extra for a few unnecessary features. So if you're looking for an efficiently functional diving mask to complete your scuba gear, here are a few features and functions that you can check out prior to purchase.

  1. Mask Purges. The more expensive line of diving masks are outfitted with a water purge valve found at the base of the nose piece. Simply exhale through your nose and water penetrating the mask is readily expelled. Nonetheless, maintenance can be a disadvantage since the valve can get easily contaminated and cleaning it can be much of a chore. Likewise, mask purges can come about as impractical to seasoned scuba divers and yet handy for beginners.
  2. Lenses. Some scuba diving masks are designed to accommodate optical lenses. These type of masks are appropriate for near-sighted divers who may be uncomfortable with the wear of spectacles or contact lenses under their diving masks. Lenses are available in either glass or plastic material with glass lenses being more expensive than its plastic counterpart. The advantage of glass lenses is that these won't poke your eyes in the event that it breaks.
  3. Straps. Straps are available in all shapes, sizes and from various material components. Many straps come in easy-to-adjust forms while others are outfitted with intricate adjustments that provide a snuggled fit. You can purchase a silicone strap if the strap bundled with your mask doesn't meet your fancy. Meanwhile, scuba divers inconvenienced by the occasional pull of their mane along with the mask can settle for neoprene straps that are deemed hair friendly.

If you are still undecided at this point, we recommend the IST Proline Zeus Mask to form part of your scuba gear. The Zeus Mask is perfect for both novice and seasoned scuba divers alike. For one, the item features interchangeable optical lenses that are useful to divers inflicted with astigmatism and myopia. Moreover, the straps are easy to replace so that the need to fuss over the material is unnecessary since the straps can be changed anytime, anywhere and anyhow you want it. Furthermore, the Zeus Mask is expertly crafted to allow amazing views on all angles and give you the advantage of an excellent field of vision in every dive.
