Nature Photography - Dawn Landscapes

-Visualize. Visualize what you want the picture to look. This is one of the things that makes a great photo. You need to look at a scene and imagine how it can be turned into something special. A river or landscape may be quite dull during the normal light hours, but could be extraordinary during the early hours of dawn.

-Animation. Animation will add a layer of interest to your photos that will make it come alive. Animals, swaying trees or rushing water could all be examples of this. This life, this animation, attracts the eye and attention to the photograph more than a still or inanimate object could. Animated object can reinforce a motif that is a part of your photograph.

-View Point. The viewpoint and perspective can play an important role in the overall look of the picture. Creating a high or low viewpoint can be essential if you want to incorporate other items of interest within the photograph, or diminish an items importance.

-Light. Using direct sunlight can make a clear statement about an object, but at the same time fails to establish any distinct atmosphere, feel or ambiguity. If you shoot to east, you will ensure that the color of the sky and the water dominate the picture, that is if you are in fact shooting a lake, river or other body of water.

-Color. Color obviously plays a role in all photos. Reds are advancing colors that excites the eyes. On the contrary, blues move away or recede, and are calming to the viewer.
